The artwork on this website reflects early and continued efforts to incorporate art both in the classroom and the everyday path of students. Generously funded from various sources, including individual bequests, non-profit donations, and commissions through the Wisconsin Arts Board Percent for Art program, these objects range from large-scale sculptures to murals and mixed-media installations.
Through this website, we hope to encourage curiosity and exploration of these artworks as well as other campus art collections. To browse the Chazen Museum of Art’s full permanent collection visit www.chazen.wisc.edu. This project was designed, and implemented by Berit Ness in 2015, a former UW-Madison graduate student in Art History, with Daniel Einstein, Historic and Cultural Resources Manager for UW-Madison’s Division of Facilities Planning and Management.
A generous grant from The Brittingham Fund—The University of Wisconsin Trust supported this project. We extend deep gratitude to former Art History Assistant Professor Lauren Kroiz and Chazen Museum of Art Curator Maria Saffiotti Dale. Many thanks also to Professor Aristotle Georgiades, Professor Anna V. Andrzejewski, Professor Barbara C. Buenger, the staff at the Arts Institute, and DoIT Tech Services.
